Trichromatism

Trichromatism refers to normal color vision.  Individuals with normal color vision have three types of cones, each of which are responsive to different wavelengths (Hovancik, n.d.). These wavelengths correspond with the colors red, blue, and green.  In order to describe the complexity of color vision, two theories are used, the trichromatic theory and the opponent process theory.
